Friday 17th July

We did routine inspection of lights around Piccinini Restuatant, front office and the General trading shop.We found a fault at one of the overhead Spot light tha had to be disconnected and repair and be installed back again.

Thursday 16th July

visit to Lethabo Power Station

Wednesday 15th July

completion and closing down of the open holes we did for easier drawing of wire,removal of barrications that were available.

Back to classroom to continue wit activity 4 of the manual Estimate,Measure and calculate physical quantities.

tuesday 14th

Drawing of electrical wires from the academy building to the restuarant were we had to struggle with the pipes and draw wire but eventually we used the material they use when unblocking sewerages and it worked just waiting for the installation from the technician.

Friday 10th July

Routine maintenance around the offices and we changed burned bulbs at the reception area and 2 flouresent tubes from Finance office and Fun Seekers,changed the timer for the swimming pool elements(Caravan Park)...we also received new that Sondela has been fined for using too much electricity during peak times.

We had a meeting with Mr Diederick conrcening progress on our business plan and we recorded a sample video on the backround of our company,with the absence of two members.

Tuesday 7th July

Started a new module u/s id;9010 & 9013 measure and estimate.This module took us back to basics of Mathematics on measurements e.g.lenght ,breath,2d,3d side.

Monday 6th July

Routine maintenance around the farm was the first task of the day,After it was completed we had to go over to Sehoale Camp and digg trenche for lying around cables

friday 3rd

we only had to do routine maintenance.Requested to leave early as we had to make an appoinment with the SEDA officialls in Modimolle about the Registration of a CC.It was granted for Monday the 6th

thursday 2nd July

another busy day firstly we had to complete the previous task of installing the spotlights at Guest house gardens and it was done....second task for the day was to wire and install temporary infra red lights at Wild Life Centre.
the lights will be pluged in to be switched when needed.
we used 1,5mm surfix cable,Edison screw bulb holders and three pin plugs.

we completed our day with installaton of plugs at the mechanical workshop were two plugs had to share a circuit and one on its own circuit.
The installation was done accordingly but we encounted a problem were one circuit was tripping the Earth Leakage.

The problem was later discovered that the neutral on one circuit was connected on the neutral bar of the supply which is earth potential.

wednesday 1st July

it was back to practicals after two days of classroom, and we had to get down quickly as there was a lot of work that needs to be done.
1st we had to install 10 spot lights around the Guest house gardens.

we had to dig a trench for the 1,5mm surfix cable which will be transfering current from one spotlight to the other.we only installed six(6) spot lights.

we had to stop with our job as the material we had was not enough to do the expected job,they kept on promising us that it is on its way until knock off time.

Tuesday 30th Assessments

This was the second day of assessment were the difficult ones have been assessed it was domn to fundamentals.

1st module was Statistics which was Excellent
2nd module was Mathematics in Finance was also excellent

this was also the last day of assessment of the completed modules.

monday 29th june..Assessment

This was one of the most important day on our learnership as the knowledge we aquired was to be tested in the form of assessments.

Mr Nolte and Mr Habemann were the responsible people on this assessment and they took us through our paces on the early day of monday

We started we the module of Basic Electronic Circuits which went on badly
2nd module was of electronic Theory was Good
3rd module was Maintain low voltage Transformers was excellent

we had our First meeting with Mr Diederick about our Enterpreneuship idea
